摘要
The present paper deals with the investigation of ceramic oxide coatings on Al formed by means of microarc oxidation (MAO) in concentrated H2SO4 and reveals the association between their formation mechanism and structural characteristics. Structural analysis of the anodic coatings was carried out by X-ray diffraction (XRD) and a scanning electron microscopy (SEM). It was tested that studied coatings have crystalline structure composed of cubic γ- and tetragonal δ-Al203. The traces of θ-Al203 were also observed. Surface relief by coatings is quite inhomogeneous. The presence of crater-like pores suggests that in sparking the material inside the pores be in a molten state. In another way, the fusions of the kind are likely to result from the micro-discharges that occur in MAO process.
