The Bi-Pb-Zn system has been investigated using the techniques of thermal analysis and emf measurement. An interesting feature of the ternary phase diagram is the occurrence of large liquid miscibility regions, which extend from both the Bi-Zn binary systems to join up in the ternary composition regions. The composition limits of the invariant reactions which occur close to the corners of the composition triangle need to be determined more precisely.
