During the automatic measuring phase, the instrument setup also automatically records a corrected pole figure which shows the preferred orientation in detail. All the measured values are automatically corrected with respect to background, geometrical influences and absorption, enabling pole figures from 0 to 85 degrees to be recorded, using the reflection method. In general, the transmission measurement method can be dispensed with. At the end of the measurement, the reference value is given. Apart from being printed out on a pole-figure recorder, this data can also be fed to a computer for evaluation.
