Chase Elastomer Corporation wrote its own software to manage its own rubber formulations, inventory, and production control. The software is named Millroom Record System, or MRS, developed to run on IBM-PC or compatible personal computers. Unlike earlier computer systems, the MRS software was designed for ease of use, even by those not familiar with computers. The operator is guided through each step with a prompt, or set of instructions or questions whereby all that is required is to supply the requested data or information.
