The New Jersey Institute of Technology's 4-yr surveying engineering technology program stresses both the practical and theoretical aspects of professional land surveying and the future role of surveying in the information age. The program stresses the legal and analytical (accuracy analysis) aspects of surveying. The program was designed to meet the university's academic standards and to be accredited by the New Jersey Society of Professional Land Surveyors (NJSPLS) and other accrediting organizations. These organizations, particularly NJSPLS, had a hand in designing the program to ensure its recognition and the support needed.
