摘要
Laminar filmwise condensation during saturated vapor flows vertically downwards along a surface placed in the flow direction and maintained at a temperature below the temperature of the saturated vapor is considered. Both body force and forced convection have been considered in the film. The thickness of the film is assumed to be small, and inertia and convection terms are neglected. Two-phase boundary layer equations have been solved using the integral form of the energy equation. For a definite value of the mass flux within the condensate film, variations of the film thickness, interfacial velocity and local coefficient of heat transfer for different values of the rate of heat generation are discussed.
