The problem of source-initiated circuit switched multicasting in an ad-hoc wireless network that uses CDMA for channel access is addressed. To provide better coupling between physical layer and network layer issues, capacity expressions for multiuser detectors were incorporated and transmission power bounds were obtained for developing efficient multicasting algorithms. Several multicast routing algorithms for wireless networks are developed and their performances are compared. Using a CDMA framework, the capacity results for multiuser detectors are used to develop link power metrics for the routing problem.
