摘要
CIT Alcatel's CELTIC Time Assignment Speech Interpolation (TASI) concentrators are designed to enhance the cost-effectiveness of long-haul links by increasing their capacity. The second generation equipment utilizes an original architecture and makes extensive use of microcomputers. The CELTIC-2G system offers a flexible and effective solution to the problem of transmission highway congestion for both digital (2. 048 Mbit/s) or 1. 544 MBit/s) and analog circuits. The results of subjective tests on a Paris-London link using submarine cables demonstrates the high quality of transmission that can be achieved. The technical qualities of the CELTIC-2G system and the savings it makes possible on high transmission rate cables have already led a number of telecommunication agencies and administrations to adopt it. The system is currently in service on all types of transmission media: terrestrial and submarine cables, microwave and satellite links.
