A new generation of ″super-stabilized antiwear hydraulic oils″ has been developed to provide outstanding performance features designed to meet the needs of modern hydraulic systems. In addition to the usual steel-on-steel antiwear performance, the new oils' properties include multimetal compatibility, ″keep-clean″ performance, antiwear retention, thin oil film inhibition, controlled demulsibility, and wide-temperature-range pumpability. Each of these capabilities is discussed.
