An approach to description of plastic deformation under static load and high-frequency vibration on the basis of rheological models is proposed. Lowering of the static forces necessary for plastic deformation is detected. The dependence of these forces on the elastoplastic properties of the material and the vibration parameters is determined. A change in the type of plastic flow with static load is indicated. The results are compared with available experimental data. Ultrasonic vibration is used to intensify various technological processes involving plastic deformation or fracture of the material, such as sheet stamping, drawing and flattening of wires, ultrasonic machining of brittle materials, and metalcutting with the cutting tool set in ultrasonic vibration.
