摘要
The acceptance of biotech crops, based on the development of genetically modified (GM) seeds with pest control traits, is discussed. The faster growing seeds and traits market of GM seeds is seen as an alternative to the crop protection chemicals. The contribution of biotech crops in reducing pesticide usage has brought the growth of about 16% in the biotech seeds and traits sector. The issue regarding biopharmaceutical crops leading to the contamination of food crops is also discussed.
