The excess molar volumes VmE of binary mixtures of {x(C4H9)2O + (1-x)H(CH2)v(OCH2CH2)3OH} for v = 1, 2, and 4 have been measured as a function of mole fraction x using a continuous-dilution dilatometer at T = 298.15 K. The VmE decreases in magnitude as the alkyl chain length of the alkoxyethanol increases. Excess volumes are positive over the whole mole fraction range for the systems di-n-butylether with v = 1 and 2 and change sign from positive to negative for the remaining system di-n-butylether with v = 4. The behaviour of VmE with composition and the number of carbon atoms in the aliphatic chain of the alkoxyethanol is discussed along with those for other two homologous series reported in the literature.
