Calculation of residual stresses in homogeneous hollow spheres after deformation, measured on the inner surface after the material of the outer surface had been removed, was suggested by A. Peiter in 1967. In the present paper the problem was developed for a hollow sphere whose elastic constants depend on the radius. Equations are derived for the two cases of either removing the material of the outer surface by any machining process or lifting it electrolytically.
