Simple Kt/V equations are developed theoretically from the urea mass balance equation. Two approximations led to an equation relating the post to pre dialysis ratio, the amount of fluid removed during dialysis and the dialysis length. One further approximation led to a simpler formula. The equations were tested with two sets of data.
