摘要：

Methods for precision positioning of tools in machine tools are considered. The method of preset tools with optional test cut is used widely in Europe while the United States uses the method of precision tools with optional test cut. An evaluation is made for those two methods as well as for the so-called method of permanent measured tool with compensating device.
