Experimental thermodynamic information has been used in deriving a thermodynamically consistent analytical description of the thermochemical properties and phase diagram of the Al-Mg system. A set of coefficients representing the Gibbs energy of the pure components and line compounds and the excess Gibbs energy of mixing of the solution phases is given. Values calculated with the coefficient set agree well with experimental data within the experimental error.
