摘要
This paper provides details of a combined theoretical and experimental investigation into the fluid dynamics produced by certain co and counter-current stratified flows in circular pipes. Based on momentum balance an equation for each of these modes was developed. Through the use of two separate experimental rigs two fluid systems of significantly different density ratio were then experimentally investigated to quantify these equations. The correlations of these results are presented and a practical example of the application of these relationships is illustrated.
