摘要
Based on a study of carrier cargo handling needs researchers at Bavaria Cargo Technologies GmbH have designed and developed a containerized cargo system for standard-body aircraft. The cargo system consists of hybrid fiber sandwich panels (in either a roller mat or ball mat configuration) that house all of the components. Components include rollers, latches, ball unit, power drive unit (PDU), control box, remote control joystick, and unit load device (ULD). The modular roller and ball mat structures mount directly to the aircraft hard points without cargo compartment modification. The PDUs are operated from the 28 Vdc remote control joystick via an electronic control box. Cargo system technology may be applied to main deck systems, as well as lower deck systems. Data show that by advancing cargo system technology, standard-body aircraft may be able to realize some of the same benefits as wide-body aircraft.
