摘要
One can simultaneously display a picture derived fom a video disk with a page of text or computer graphics by implementing some simple interface circuitry with the Advanced Peripheral Display Controller (APDC), a table-driven, character-oriented, VLSI IC. The result is a text-in-picture or picture-in-text display. In such an application, transmission codes, character and attribute information, and DRCS (dynamically redefinable character set) characters are all downloaded through the RS-232C ports. To display a page of text and graphics generated by the APDC with a picture derived from a video disk, one must synchronize both video sources by using the SAA5230 video processor's phase-locked slave mode, in which the SAA5230's internal phase-locked voltage-controlled oscillator (VCO) generates a 6-MHz display clock.
