摘要:
In 1999, NSF International launched the NSF International Nonfood Compounds Registration and Listing Program for food-grade lubricants. The programme website lists more than 15,000 nonfood compounds whose formulations have been independently evaluated by NSF or the US Department of Agriculture (USDA). The evolution of the NSF Program from USDA's discontinued programme of authorization and listing of food-grade lubricants is outlined. International standardization of formulation evaluation is discussed with reference to the role of NSF. The NSF review, registration and listing systems are outlined. New programme features include lubricant ingredients registration and listing, range submission and an online review application site. The importance of independent assessment by a third-party organization is considered.
