We have measured magnetic linear and circular dichroism (MLDAD and MCDAD) for 2p3/2 and 3p core excitation of a ferromagnetic nickel single crystal (110) surface. For the 2p3/2 resonance excitation, the observed MLDAD in the 3p photo-emission and 2p3p3p Auger emission show a qualitative agreement with the theoretical calculation. In the valence band region, the MLDAD and MCDAD for the 3p resonance are quite different from the MLDAD for the 2p3/2 resonance excitation.
