The author explains the nature of sensor magnetics, describes the principle and construction of magnetic sensors, discusses the superiority of amorphous magnetic materials, gives a hierarchical classification of sensors employing amorphous magnetic materials, and summarizes a number of related sensor applications. An attempt is made to focus on the new role of such sensors as information sensors, i.e., a new trend toward combining advanced magnetic sensors such as security sensors and data tablets with personal computers and other computer equipment.
