摘要:
The article describes the formation of grooves at the bottom sides of castings produced in bentonite-bonded silica sand molds. A mathematical model involving process characteristics which determine the flow behavior of metal melts on plane, horizontal mold bottoms is discussed. Predictions are made of the formation of grooves in case of variation of relevant factors. Systematical tests in bentonite-bonded silica sand molds are carried out. Good agreement of theoretical anticipations with experimental results has been achieved.
