The combined effect of viscous and Darcy dissipations on the free convective flow of an incompressible viscous fluid through a porous medium occupying a semi-infinite region of the space bounded by an infinite vertical porous plate is considered. The plate is subjected to a normal suction velocity. The finite difference method has been used to obtain the numerical solutions of the governing equations. The velocity and temperature profiles are shown on graphs. Also, values of skin-friction and Nusselt number are calculated by numerical differentiation using Newton's interpolation formula. During the course of discussion, the effects of various parameters on the flow are discussed.
