摘要
The article summarizes the results of recent studies on fire cracking, a phenomenon observed during tempering of copper-nickel-zinc alloys, known as nickel or german silvers. Based on the analysis of these results, a mechanism was proposed describing fire cracking as an explosive, intercrystalline process, due to embrittlement caused by liquid metal. The validity of this mechanism was confirmed by optical microscopy and differential thermal analysis.
