This paper presents a simple and practical method to estimate the influence of the insulator assemblies on the overall Radio Interference Level of any existing high voltage transmission line for any given set of atmospheric and contamination conditions. Also, this method is a very useful tool for the determination of assemblies' RIV performance requirements in the design of a new line when the conductors have been chosen.
