摘要
Sludge application for agricultural purposes is currently being examined through the High Point, North Carolina, Water and Sewage Treatment Plant's use of a wheeled sludge applicator and North Carolina State University's three-year study to determine the effects of sludge. The use of a Big Wheels sludge applicator for sludge disposal from the High Point treatment plant is viewed as a trial proposition by both Frank Ward, superintendent of plants, and the soil scientists of North Carolina State University in Raleigh. The treatment plant is experimenting to find out exactly what can be done with the wheeled sludge applicator and how much sludge they can dispose of. In light of the widespread interest in sludge application for agronomic purposes, N. C. State University has begun a three-year study to determine the effects of sludge.
