摘要：

A survey of 40 different models of so-called industrial ″robots″ is given. The tasks assigned to industrial robots are highly varied. Painting, spot welding, attendance at press operations and forging as well as palletizing are some of the more common tasks, but the list is constantly being added to. The use of industrial robots in series systems is on the rise, especially within the car industry and in other industries with long series. Programmed units with different alternative programs in combination with sensing and controlling capabilities also open the door to more complex applications.
