摘要：

The approach of an industrial sector to develop standards for the global market is presented. A way to eliminate duplication of standards that is inherent in harmonization while letting both ASTM international and ISO to develop quality standards for geosynthetics industry is also discussed. It was concluded that the geosynthetics industry will be governed by one globally accepted set of standards that meet the needs of all industry stakeholders.
