摘要
Rare Earth-Cobalt-Magnets are suitable for the excitation of large synchronous machines with large number of poles. Starting from the given short-circuit current the design equations for assuring the magnetic stability of the magnet are derived. Using an example, the calculation procedure and the possible optimization of the design are demonstrated. The effect of a given field voltage and a short-circuit current as well as the soft-iron pole shoes on the design are investigated.
