摘要
The image processing system researched and developed thus far possesses lower adaptability than the human visual system and has been used under strict constraints. Thus, this paper describes an image processing system which was specially assembled in order to alleviate the position and size constraints. In this system, an imaging system is composed by the compact combination of a semiconductor imaging device with a zoom lens so that azimuth and elevation angles can be controlled. Also, if necessary, the proper selection of resolution is made possible by controlling the zooming mechanism. Using these visual direction and field controlling functions, a stratified processing system, which consists of a preliminary rough observation and a resulting precise observation, can be realized. As an example, we obtained a good result in the search experiment where a specified figure is recognized among groups of similar figures scattered in the wide range of location.
