摘要
Examples are given of the application of diffracted waves in ultrasonic nondestructive testing. It is shown that they can be used to solve a number of practical problems, specifically to measure the growth of cracks in depth and the transverse dimensions of volumetric flaws, to determine the nature and orientation of flaws, etc. The properties and practical implementation of diffracted waves of the fourth type, which occur in layered-inhomogeneous media, are discussed. They can be used to solve such an important practical problem as measuring the depth of the hardened case of rolls for cold rolling.
