Correlation between acidic and catalytic properties of high-silica zeolite catalysts of propane aromatization

Catalytic and acidic properties of compositions containing high-silica zeolite of the ZSM type and Al2O3, in the process of propane aromatization at 560° C under atmospheric pressure were studied. It is ascertained that with an increase in binder content in the catalysts the degree of propane conversion and the yield of liquid product decrease. The number of the Broensted acid centres with an increase in the number of the Lewis centres decreases cymbatically to the process. Modification of zeolite component by gallium does not bring about changes in total number of acid centres, but results in their redistribution. By the least square fit the dependence between conversion degree and number of proton and aprotic centres was approximated. In the absence of the modifying addition propane conversion degree is mainly determined by the number of the Broensted acid centres.
