摘要：

The factors underlying container growth in Latin America are highlighted. Containerboard imports, total container consumption and Gross National Product growth of selected countries are tabulated. One of the major products of NAFTA are containerboards. The other factors resulting in growth of containerboards include regional globalization, the consumer market demands, computer hookups, Internet subscribers and Latin America as an export market. Statistics on assembly operations that use temporary imports are also significant.
