This article reports on the development and characteristics of a new versatile, nickel-chromium-molybdenum-tungsten alloy, produced by Haynes International and designated HASTELLOY alloy C-22. This alloy finds applications in highly corrosive environments found in the pulp and paper, picking acid process, the production of pesticides and agrichemicals, plastics, oil and gas. The alloy also finds uses in marine environments and chemical process industries.
