摘要：

Based on the minimum reduced costs under various kinds of limitations, a method is proposed and justified for optimum selection of the capacities of controlled capacitor batteries and their placement in complex electric networks. The appropriate computation algorithm is based on the proved ″principle of areas″ . It is obtained by treating the problem of compensation of variable reactive loads in the first approximation as a problem of quadratic programming.
