Polarogrphy of indium thiocyanate complexes was studied in aqueous mixtures (10%, 25% and 50%) of methanol, ethanol, dioxan and dimethylformamide. The electrode reaction was found to be reversible in all the media. The stability constants of the complexes were calculated by the method of DeFord and Hume. The polarograms in thiocyanate media exhibited a minimum or dip in the plateau region of the wave. An attempt was made to correlate the dip with the composition of the solvent and also the diffusion current as well as the stability constants with the solvent properties like dielectric constant and viscosity.
