The viscometric expansion factor alpha // eta of polymers is represented as a function of a new nonadjustable parameter M/M//c. M is the actual molecular weight of a polymer sample and M//c the molecular weight of this polymer at the onset of the excluded volume in the solvent in which the alpha // eta was measured. The variation of alpha // eta as a function of M/M//c can be represented by a universal plot independent of the polymer and the solvent.
