摘要：

The importance of on-stream inspection as a tool in smooth maintenance of equipment in fertilizer industry is examined. Different methods are explained. Effective contribution made by on-stream inspection towards reduction of equipment failures and resultant reduction in plant downtime, equipment maintenance planning and spare parts procurement are outlined. Limitations of on-stream inspection, frequency of inspection, inspection reports, record of inspection and profile of inspection engineer are briefly discussed.
