摘要
Particulate emissions have been addressed by regulatory control probably longer than any other pollution parameter. Today, plants with no past history of problems with stack emissions are being required to remove more and more particulate matter. And converting to oil and coal as fuel presents further potential problems. Applying proven control technology for abatement of particulate emissions from industrial plant stacks is often as elusive as defining the term ″particulates.″ The discussion of the subject is presented under headings - the elusive particulate; emission standards; particulate characterization; system definitions; equipment selection; particle properties; equipment technology profile Rgravity-settling chambers, cyclonic separaters, scrubbers, electrostatic precipitators, fabric filters).
