The combination of electrolytic and deep grinding techniques has led to a considerable increase in removal rates, and a decrease in overall costs, in the cylindrical grinding of carbides and steels using diamond wheels. Adapting the electrolytic grinding process to cylindrical grinding has made it possible to machine not only chip- forming cutting tools but also form tools and wear- resistant carbide parts or parts armored with hard coatings. In this way the technique will gain even greater importance and will contribute to the general pattern of technological development.
