In India, about two dozen housing systems which recommend use of prefabricated components have been developed. Analysing the available information with limited feedback on performance, the prefab units having potential for large-scale use are listed out. Probable locations, where they could be utilised, are indicated. The equipment involved in their production and assembly are also indicated. The tabulated information can be used as a ready-reckoner for the selection of a component.
