摘要：
The continuous steel casting process needs to be controlled to provide a cast structure comprising an equiaxed zone extending to approximately 50% of billet width if mini-ingot formation and axial segregation of solute elements are to be avoided. Control of tundish superheat and the use of magnetic stirring contribute to this objective.
