Tabulated and plotted data for heat treating, case-hardening, hot work, and austenitic stainless steels containing 0. 01 to 0. 1% S, machined with high speed steel and cemented carbide tools show the favorable effect of the higher sulfur contents. But even the lower sulfur additions improved chip formation.
