摘要:
In 1984, North Hanover Power Utility put its second generation graphical data processing (GDP) system into operation. The rapid developments in this field of data processing in recent years had made the replacement of the initial GDP system from the year 1975 necessary in order to fulfill present and future functions. Experience with the first system showed that the economical use of GDP, as a purely graphical system, is not clearly apparent. The economic benefits are first achieved by the integration of a network information system. The Hanover utility has forseen a data recording period of five to seven years. The author outlines the goals, the requirements, the application and the characteristics of a network information system.
