Effective control of the coal drying process requires two interrelated subsystems: control of the furnace and control of the process paper. Up to the present time there have been no technical advances in regulation of the process of combustion of solid fuel in a bed. The existing theoretical investigations are clearly inadequate to develop automation apparatus. The authors developed a new method of control of a bed furnace and drum dryer. The paper discusses this development.
