From the load cell that weighs charge components to the nondestructive testing unit in final inspection, instruments play a vital part in the foundry industry. Measuring and process control devices have contributed to essential improvements in casting quality and will undergo significant changes in the next decade. Glimpses of the state of the art are provided in this article.
