摘要
Mix compositions have been selected for fused refractories in laboratory tests to maximize metal precipitation from the melt. The tests included measurements of viscosity and solidification temperatures. The effects of Na2O, scale and calcium have also been studied. The influence of cooling rate on viscosity, phase composition and structure was investigated and used for recommending specific formulations for commercial production of fusion-cast articles based on carbon ferrochrome slags. A pilot batch of refractories was produced by adjustments of carbon ferrochrome slags and found to be at least identical with and sometimes superior to commercial refractories in their refractory and mechanical properties.
