ENVELOPE SOLITON OF THE ELECTRON PLASMA WAVE IN A NONLINEAR TRANSMISSION LINE.

摘要
We derive a new nonlinear evolution equation in the continuum limit, referring to a nonlinear dispersive transmission line. Its asymptotic behaviour is described by the nonlinear Schroedinger equation with the help of the reductive perturbation method. The envelope soliton of the nonlinear Schroedinger equation is modulationally stable. Since the nonlinear capacitance of the line corresponds to the electron plasma density, this transmission line can explain the nonlinear density modulation in the electron plasma wave.
