摘要:
The unique performances attached to the heterodyne (or coherent) optical detection-process can be exploited with single-mode fiber transmission. Recent developments seem to open up a wide range of possibilities for further system development. Research and development of heterodyne/coherent optical fiber communications are being accelerated because of the possibility of 20-30 db receiver sensitivity improvement. The requirements of such a system are reviewed and recent theoretical and experimental results are reported.
